Christmas Movies for Kids

Who doesn’t love getting snug under a blanket and putting on a feel-good Christmas movie? We’ve selected some of our favourite kid-friendly xmas movies, from classics to Netflix originals. So grab a hot chocolate and get ready for your movie marathon!

1. The Grinch

There’s a few versions of this fabulous movie to choose from, however, for kids we think Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch (2018) is best. As it has cute animations, a modern soundtrack, and the Grinch exhibits a kinder relationship to his dog, Max. You can check out the trailer below:

2. Klaus

This movie may seem a little dark in the beginning, but it truly blossoms up with a lot of character development. Ultimately, it is a very fun and sweet movie with a heartwarming message.

3. The Snowman

The Snowman is a classic Christmas movie, complete with a beautiful animation and soundtrack. It is also a relatively short animation and contains no words, so it’s also suitable for very young children. Though please note, the ending might be a little sad for more sensitive kids. You can watch the movie below:

4. The Muppet Christmas Carol

The Muppet characters tell their version of the classic Christmas Carol. With charming characters and great tunes, it’s a family favourite for a reason. As with all versions of the Christmas Carol, the spirits might be a bit scary for some children (particularly the Ghost of Christmas Future), so please keep this in mind when watching.

Christmas Songs for Kids

Is it ever too early for Christmas music..? I’ll let you decide! Whether you’re belting Christmas tunes in the summer or strictly listen to them in December, we’ve got some catchy and kid-friendly songs for you.

1. Together at Christmas by Irish Women in Harmony

If you were watching The Late Late Show then you already know who these fantastic singers are. What's more this song is also in support of the ISPCC (The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children), which of course is very close to our hearts here at Babysits. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause then you can do so through the ISPCC's website.

2. Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer

3. I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday by Wizzard

4. Jingle Bells

5. We Wish You a Merry Christmas

6. Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms

7. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas by Michael Bublé
